In the first of a new series of online interviews exploring the personal stories of people working in the arts we will be speaking to artist, curator and educator Professor Anita Taylor. We’ll be talking to Anita about how she became one of the most influential voices in contemporary drawing and how she balances her roles as founding director of both the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize and Drawing Projects UK with her personal practice as an artist and her role as Dean of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design at the University of Dundee. Feel free to email any questions you’d like us to put to Anita in advance to info@draw-brighton.co.uk or to ask questions via the Q&A function during the talk.

Our new ETC: ART/WORK programme aims to showcase the variety of careers in the arts through conversations with leading figures in art and design. The talks are run by Draw Brighton with support from Cass Art and are funded by our supporters on Patreon

How to take part

The live webinar will be hosted on Zoom and you can watch on your computer or on a phone or tablet with the Zoom app – only the speaker’s audio and video will be enabled. Just click THIS LINK at 7pm on Friday 27th November to join. The talk is free and you do not need to sign up in advance, you will just need to give your name and email address when you sign in – these will not be stored after the talk. We will also be live-streaming the talk on our Youtube channel HERE.

After the talk

After the talk there will be the optional opportunity to join a 45 minute follow-up ‘pub trip’ where you will be able to join a Zoom meeting to chat about Anita’s talk with other people who attended. Once the talk is over, just grab a drink and click the link in THIS EVENT; we’ll start at 8:10pm, you’ll need your audio and video on and we will split into random ‘pub’ groups of 6 people on Zoom.
