Cult Classics Figure Drawing: Love in Space

Looking for something more fun this V-day? Take you, & your (optional!) beau on a visit to Outer Space to get those creative juices flowing with an evening at Draw Brighton! Whether you’re coming along solo, with friends or on a Valentines date, you’re guaranteed a great night drawing in excellent company. All levels of experience are welcome!

Cult Classics Figure Drawing is an immersive event with costumed models, themed sets and playful surprises thrown in. “Love in Space” is this month’s offering – expect vintage space movie kitsch vibes; sliver hearts, UFOs, loved up aliens holding mixed poses and ray-guns!

If you’ve never drawn before, this is a fun way to get started and become part of our supportive drawing community. We will be drawing from a costumed model who will be holding a range of poses from 2 - 45 mins long, with a themed out-of-this-world playlist playing during the session & a short, chatty tea break halfway through for drinks and spacey-snacks! As this is a drop-in session, you can book ahead or arrive on the day and pay by card. If you have any questions just email Katie on katiebrightonmodel@gmail.com

What you need to bring

You can turn up empty-handed but we encourage you to bring your own materials – some basic drawing materials will be available for free and paper can be purchased in the studio. Easels, padded & backed chairs, drawing boards and small tables are all provided on a first come-first served basis.  Each session is themed and dressing up is always encouraged!  The best costume from the evening as decided by Cult Classics will win two free tickets to the next Cult Classics Figure Drawing event in April!

Getting to the studio

One of the crew will be at the door to let people in to the building from 7:15pm, but the doors of the studio will not open until 7.30 sharp, when the session starts. Approach New England House from the New England Street side of the building and walk up to the locked blue double doors next to the sign for the ‘Building Manager’s Office’. Wait to be let in or call the number on the door for entry - the studio is on level 5, Unit 1 South, just knock and walk in. There is parking at London Road car park, Elder Place & Trafalgar St car parks; Brighton station is a 5 minute walk from the studio.
