Wendy Barratt

Taking inspiration from people whom she draws in the life room, people encountered both in real life and through found images, Wendy's portraiture is led by a sense of emotion, expression and human connection.

Wendy has exhibited with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters as well becoming Sky Portrait Artist of the Year 2023 and having her winning commission accepted into the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery. Wendy says about her work:

"My portraiture is led by the shapes and connections I see in my subjects as well as the emotion, expression and human connection between artist and sitter. I'm keen to develop each student’s abilities of looking, connecting and expressing themselves with an emphasis on keen observation".
