2 Mawddach Cresent

NORTH WALES

2 Mawddach Cresent (pronounced Maw-th-ak) is the home of Draw founder Jake Spicer and the location for our Welsh painting and drawing retreats. The house and studio are part of an isolated terrace of 8 houses, once known locally as Artists' Row that look out over the Mawddach Estuary. The sea sits off to the West, with the town of Barmouth at the far end of a mile-long railway bridge that crosses the river mouth; mountains rear up behind the house, with waterfalls cascading to the river just a short walk beyond the wooded hill at the back of the Crescent. The house accommodates up to 6 people for our residential retreats and can occasionally be hired with the studio when Jake isn't at home.

Getting there by car:
Driving from the East you will need to come through the village of Arthog and take a right turn off the road signposted towards Morfa Mawddach train station. On your right you will see a gate with a sign reading 'This Gate Must Remain Shut At All Times' - head through the gate, down a track and round the hill to get to Mawddach Cresent. Number 2 is at the far end and you can park directly in front of the house.

Getting there by public transport:
The journey by rail is beautiful, as fast as the drive and more environmentally friendly. You will need to get a ticket to Morfa Mawddach - a small request stop just a few minutes walk from the house.
